Half-elves

Half-elves are treated differently depending on what race-mix they are, the continent/lands they are currently visiting, and the specific culture they are interacting with.

Some lands revere the close union of two races through the joining of blood as a great blessing and supportive of peace and harmony.

While other lands and cultures (including the humans of Regnum Sapientium) abhor the "abomination" of these "half-breeds".

When choosing a Half-elven character, you will need to determine which branch of the elves one of your parents came from.

It is easier for half-elves (except Half-drow) to blend-in among humans than a full elf.

Hemi-Sylvantiatus

Half-wood-elves have distinctly deep green eyes of the evergreen woods, with sandy to brown hair, and skin that is slightly nut-colored brownish. These are the most common half-elves. The tribe that the half-elf is from, upon the half-elf's coming of age, the chieftain will formally declare the half-elf to be exiled from their tribe. Other tribes will not trust the half-elf both because of being a "half breed" and because of the rivalry of other tribes. But other tribes will not enforce the exile from their realms, only the tribe that the half-elf is from will enforce it. The punishment for breaching exile is incarceration and slavery, they justify this with "We do not kill those of our own tribe".

Hemi-Aquiatus

Half-sea-elves have distinctly deep blue (of the deep oceans) to stormy grey eyes, with dark hair with slightly bluish highlights in the sun. They tan very well, but if out of the sun, tend to become pale like the underbelly of a fish  with a slightly bluish tinge (if pale). The second most common of the half-elves. The sea elves are the least condenming of the elves for mixed blood, but they will be awkward and uncomfortable.

Hemi-Ascentiatus

Half-high-elves, very rare. High Elves look down on other races, and any dilution of the "blood line" purity is considered incredibly embarrassing. That being said, they won't officially send Hemi-Ascentiatus into exile, but they will be ignored, and put in roles where they can be kept out of site of the public eye. However, any amount of high elf blood makes them more worth than any of the other lesser races, and they will defend even one mixed blood from physical harm by othes.

Hemi-Nochtiatus

Half-drow-elves retain violet irises, and silverish-blonde hair, and dark greyish skin. Extremely rare.
