There are three known Sundering Seas, plus several that are either forgotten or known only by a handful of lore-masters.

Most continents have to travel within sight of the coast, and avoid the Great Mists of the deep seas, else be lost forever.

There have been a few relatively safer paths found allowing experienced sailors to traverse to other continents, but there are no straight routes to do so.
